Job Description:
The Saints Prison Ministry is unique prison ministry that reaches inmates with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through athletics. Statistics show that the vast majority of prisoners will not attend a traditional religious program such as a chapel service or Bible study. However, inmates will gladly attend sporting events at which a gospel message is shared.

Description for the position of Executive Director
Reports to: Board of Trustees
Date: March, 2011
The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the ministry. He is expected to work with the Regional Directors to provide oversight and administration of the ministry. He is also to work with the Board of Trustees to identify and prioritize means to extend or achieve the SPM vision. The Executive Director is the National “face” of the ministry. Because of ministry growth, two executive committees have been established to assist in the area of Resource Development and Site/Leadership Expansion. The Executive Director is expected to guide these volunteer committees.

Responsibilities of the Executive Director:

Leadership Responsibilities:
• To work with the Board of Trustees to establish plans for achieving the Ministry’s Vision
• To be the “face and voice” of the Ministry
• To lead the ministry with being a Godly example of integrity, maturity, and
humility. Recognizing all blessings come from God
• To help develop (with God’s leading) and implement (with God’s strength and
blessing) the vision for SPM
• To develop the necessary prayer and financial support for SPM
• To communicate with existing and potential supporters (individuals and church families): Where God is leading the Ministry, How God is blessing the Ministry and How they can specifically aid the Ministry
o Reinforcing the present support base (through this leadership transition) and extending it to support the continued growth of the Ministry will be critical

• To provide oversight and administration of all leadership staff (this includes Headquarters staff, Regional Directors and Site Leaders)
• To work with Regional Directors and Site Leads to assure there is a consistent message being sent to the various ministry stakeholders
• To establish objectives for each Region and Site. These objectives should cover continued location maturity, volunteer base growth, support growth, ministry coverage and fiscal responsibility. Utilize the Expansion Committee to institute and facilitate these objectives.
• To schedule and utilize athletic crusades to perform the following
o Expansion investigation and networking
o SE Branch training and networking

To provide quarterly evaluations of the various regions (NE, SE) and sites (CO, VA, NC, SC) to the Board
• To establish and maintain a personal leadership council (for prayer, brainstorming, community networking and accountability)
• To establish and document a succession plan for E.D. and key leaders

Communication Responsibilities:
• To assure that receipt letters are sent to financial supporters; this can be accomplished directly and via broader leadership staff (Regional and Site leaders)
• To provide a monthly activity report to the Board of Trustees and a written annual report (Sept)
• To attend monthly Board of Trustees and Executive session meetings as scheduled
• To coordinate with and provide direction for the Director of Communications
o Utilize direct mail, website, facebook and face to face venues Financial Responsibilities:
• To provide fiscal oversight and make necessary expense adjustments based on actual income received
• To work with Regional Directors and Site Leaders to assure they are operating within their fiscal bounds/budgets
• To identify means for reducing operating cost while maintaining the quality of Ministry services
• To capture the cost of operation for evangelism and discipleship (considering both direct and indirect costs) and to utilize this information to establish budgets
