Job Summary:
As part of continuous quality efforts, the Institutional Effectiveness Assessment Coordinator reports to the Dean of Assessment, Planning and Compliance and provides support for institutional and program effectiveness, assessment and accreditation. Responsible for assisting the Dean of Assessment, Planning and Compliance in carrying out strategies that provide direction for strategic planning, institutional research, institutional effectiveness, and institutional outcomes. The Coordinator will work with faculty and staff to develop customized processes for data collection and utilization that enables better measurement and documentation of program and institutional outcomes.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day-to-day coordinating and maintaining records related to data collection across the university in varying platforms including Tk20, Survey Gizmo, Sharepoint and others as utilized
  • Prepare reports related to course (SLO) and program assessment and research, and trend analysis for environmental review
  • Maintain data collection related to annual IE calendar
  • Assist in preparing assessment reports needed for accreditation processes
  • Ensure that meaningful, appropriate/accurate data and supporting documentation is available to meet the decision-making needs of the University (involves collection and analysis of evidence and documentation of analyses in report format)
  • Provide data resources as needed to administrators, faculty and self-study committees 
  • Assist with student portfolio-related data collection via Tk20
  • Assist with implementation of system for institutional review and planning
  • Support Dean of Assessment, Planning and Compliance in the planning, organization, and conducting workshops, seminars, and other training development programs to assist faculty and staff in conducting and documenting effective and meaningful assessment activities
  • Assists in preparation and publishing of an annual institutional effectiveness reports
  • Assists with monitoring of APC budget
  • Assists in management of ongoing SACS & CACREP accreditation requirements
  • Participate in and record minutes for meetings related to assessment, planning and compliance
  • Assists in preparation of score card reports identifying progress in achievement of strategic initiatives and goals
  • Assist in promoting and foster a “culture of evidence” across the institution
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:
The individual for this position would have knowledge of/understand:

  • Purpose of assessment and how to effectively analyze and use assessment data
  • Student learning outcomes
  • Assessment practices, methods and platforms/technology 
  • Cyclical data collection and assessment
  • Organization-level continuous improvement
  • Accreditation and certification procedures

The individual for this position would be able to:

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organize, plan and problems solve
  • Monitor assessment process & provide needed resources
  • Work independently as well as collaborate with others
  • Collect, analyze and interpret data

The educational and professional background for this individual would include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in research, assessment or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience working in positions with related responsibilities
  • Experience working in school related settings
