Job Description:

Ministry Essentials int'l is a non-profit missions agency focused on the spiritual formation and development of Christian leaders--both nationals and global workers. This position requires the candidate to raise their own financial support from sending and supporting churches, family, and friends willing to fund your ministry of formational leader development worldwide. This position may also require the candidate to re-locate to Budapest, Hungary.

 

Position

 

Reporting to the Guiding Director and serving the Leadership team, the Office manager directs, administers, and coordinates the internal operational activities of MEI in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Leadership Team and Board of Directors. This role is responsible to lead and direct the following: operations, human resources, information systems, and agency promotion and communication.

The Office manager position involves oversight and leadership recommendation to the lead follower in the specific areas of agency operations. Overall, the Office manager will ensure that the organization is running well with regard to sustainability. This includes the ability to anticipate future problems and solution development.

 

Responsibilities

 

General:

  • Working in partnership with the Guiding Director and Leadership team, help implement new processes and approaches to achieve our strategic plan

  • Cultivate the values of MEi within the organization

  • Develop and implement a simple reporting system that will feed into regular updates to supporters and the annual report

Financial:

  • Together with the Guiding Director and Development Coordinator, engage in fund raising activities in support of ministries and projects with potential donors among individuals, businesses, and churches.

  • Prepare the annual budget, working with the Leadership Team

  • Oversee and establish guidelines and procedures for management of all operating expenses

  • Provide the Leadership Team with regular updates on the financial health of the organization

  • Coordinate with CPI for the legal, accounting, and organizational health of the ministry

Information Technology:

  • Responsible to develop and maintain our information technology strategy (brochures, DVD's, web site, blogs, etc.)

  • Analyze the current technology infrastructure and scope out the next level of information technology systems that support the growth of our ministries and the organization

  • Help initiate and manage strategic alliances with other organizations

  • Leading the administrative activities of MEi

Human Resources:

  • Performing key supporting human resource activities such as maintaining personnel files

  • Serve the Leadership Team, chaired by the Guiding Director

  • Propose policy changes for consideration by the Guiding Director and the board of directors

  • Oversee all staff benefit programs (insurance, retirement program, repatriation, etc.) 

  • Oversee and serve as the point of contact for all staff for administrative and personnel matters, including tracking quarterly/annual reports, monitoring staff fund balances, assisting with fundraising strategies, and obtaining annual staff activity reports

  • Establish and manage a training program to educate employees regarding staff tools, policies and procedures and software

  • Keep staff current regarding procedures and legal requirements in financial, IT and HR per Cedarstone

  • Oversee Onboarding

Candidate Criteria/Requirements:

  • Must raise your own financial support

    A proven manager with strong financial, IT and HR skills

  • Some ministry experience preferable

  • Ability to follow through and get things done

  • Organized with a strong attention to detail

  • A team player no matter what

  • Committed to the Vision & Core Values of MEi

  • Some overseas experience

  • Passionate about Christ formed in others and themselves

  • Experienced in leadership roles

  • Willing and able to work in a virtual setting

  • Knowledge of web based applications like Google Apps, willing to learn about web site and blogging functions in WordPress, Excel, and Word. Knowledge of Mac is a plus.

  • Willing to pursue training in Spiritual Formation (we recommend 'The School of Spiritual Direction' through New Way Ministries)

  • Clear oral/written expression skills

  • Organization and logistical assistance to leadership in Staff Gathering development

  • Leadership in development of surveys, research assignments, forms, and/or special projects

  • Develop recommendations in problem solving

  • Coordinate calendar for Staff Gathering, Leadership Team and others as needed
