General Profile
• Exhibits a passionate love relationship with God
• Inspires and leads children in their relationship with God
• Exceptional people skills, with the ability to relate to children and adults
• Demonstrates ability to work with volunteers and teams
• Additional teaching experience in a daycare or preschool program a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in education is preferred, with at least 3 years’ experience in leading a large children’s ministry and/or childcare program
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills necessary. This person needs to be an excellent planner.
• Experience in regards to budgeting and financial management.
• Salary commensurate with experience.

 

General Responsibilities

• Active member and regular attender of First Baptist Mauldin or a local church whose main doctrines align with First Baptist Mauldin
• Attend church staff prayer time, pastoral and full staff meetings at least 2 times per month
• Schedule and lead MCA Board meetings
• Develop strong working relationships with Preschool/Children’s Pastor and Student Pastor of First Baptist Mauldin
• Establish regular office hours and be available to teachers, children and parents
• Develop a healthy relationship between the church and MCA

 

Specific Responsibilities
• Set up and direct a Continuing Education program for employees
• Engage in relevant conferences and pursue additional Continuing Education workshops
• Manage all employees of MCA
• Oversee all aspects of MCA curriculum
• Serve as a liaison between church, school, parents, children and PTP committee
• Plan and conduct staff meetings
• Orient new staff
• Perform yearly evaluations for employees
• Prepare yearly contracts for designated employees
• Set and implement goals for MCA
• Oversee budget and finances of MCA
• Review and approve any student to be removed from MCA
• Responsible for maintaining parent and employee handbooks
• Approve field trips on and off campus
• Oversee the safety and security of staff and students
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the MCA Board
