Pastor of Youth Ministries Job Description Summary

Position Title/Time: Pastor of Youth Ministries for full-time salary position with benefits considering qualifications and experience.
Accountable to: God, Congregation, Church Council, Staff Relations Team and Youth Commission
Report to: Lead Pastor
Job Summary: The Pastor of Youth Ministries is responsible to minister to 7th to 12th grade students. This person will be the leader and administrator of Sunday Morning Discipleship programs, Wednesday night and all other youth outreach programs, youth mission trips, and youth staff development.
     1.Has a genuine love and passion for Christ, having accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.
     2.Biblical knowledge and acceptance of the Bible as God’s authoritative Word.
     3.Gifted in leadership, relational skills, administration, and teaching.
     4.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in youth ministry or related field (preferred).

Major Areas of Responsibility:
     1.Leadership and Administration Role:
     2.Provide leadership for the entire youth program
     3.Recruit, train/equip, motivate and support a team of adult and students to serve and work in the youth ministry.
     4.Lead Youth Commission to establish yearly vision, calendar and annual budget.
     5.Communicate with Lead Pastor and church leadership for plans necessary for effective church ministry.
Relational Ministry Role:
     1.To come along side students and staff to develop spiritual growth and build Christian community.
     2.To establish programs designed to reach out to unchurched students.
     3.To assimilate youth into various ministries of the church.
     4.To effectively communicate ministry plans to parents, students, youth leaders and congregation.
     1.Willing to become commissioned in the Covenant and/or participate in the Covenant External Orientation Program if      

     12.Willing to fulfill the annual Evangelical Covenant Ministerial continuing education requirements.
