Job Description:

Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church, a vibrant worshiping community in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, is looking for an Associate Director of Music & Worship.

At MVPC, we strive to worship in spirit and in truth, with every tool we have in our toolbox, every color we have on our palette! Our evening service, just begun this year, utilizes the best of current worship music in a more casual setting. Our morning service spans contemporary styles and classic hymns, utilizing both our gifted worship team (a mix of professional and volunteer musicians and vocalists) and our organ and choir. Our high school and middle school worship bands lead music for our thriving student ministries programs.

We’re looking for a skilled, passionate, and Jesus-loving woman or man to join our team. This individual will be a worship-leading voice in both our morning and evening services, working with our Minister of Music & Worship to ensure that all services are planned and led with the utmost focus on Christ, musical excellence, and engagement of the congregation. This individual will also oversee our student worship bands, mentoring gifted young musicians and helping to ensure our student ministries programs have a strong worship culture. There are also opportunities for the candidate with experience and passion for children’s music.

Proficiency as a vocalist and worship leader is a must. Strong skill as a guitarist or keyboardist strongly preferred, as is at least a bachelor's degree.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to explore or advance their career in music and worship leadership within a church context. This is a full-time, benefitted position with a competitive salary.

Contact Mike Loretto ( with your resume, a cover letter, and video or audio (if available) of you performing and/or leading musical worship to explore how your gifts might intersect with MVPC’s ministry.
