Director of Development - Modesto Christian School
The Development Director oversees comprehensive fundraising and capital campaign efforts to support our goal of continuing to develop a higher standard educational experience for the Christian community. Position includes grant writing, corporate and individual giving, public relations, direct mail, publications and events.
The Development Director should be an entrepreneurial-minded individual who works exceptionally well alongside directors, management, staff and volunteers to insure efficiency and effectiveness in meeting Modesto Christians organizational goals. Familiarity with event management, endowments, planned giving programs, and alumni development is desirable.
Advanced Degree preferred
Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience
Extensive experience and increasing responsibility in fundraising, with demonstrated success in prospecting, cultivating, and closing corporate, foundation, individual and major gifts
Experience working with fundraising volunteers
Creative self-starter with experience in the Christian Education Community
Proven track record of improving operational performance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: an attentive listener, articulate speaker
Strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with board members, major individual donors and prospects, staff, management team and directors
Financial management and analytical skills a must
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong leadership, mentoring, talent development and motivational skills
Strong work ethic, unquestioned reputation for honesty and integrity
Ability to problem solve independently and with others
Advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, PowerPoint)
