Job Description:

The Nazareth Trust is a Christian, not for profit, charity registered  in Scotland and Israel.  Our Hospital, in Nazareth, has been in operation for over 150 years and our School of Nursing for 90 years. In 2013 we started to provide a mobile clinic service into the West Bank.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to provide spiritual  support and guidance to our staff and volunteers in Nazareth.

Reporting to the CEO,  the Spiritual Director will need to be a Christian leader, with strong communication and people skills and have the ability to work in a complex, multi faith environment.

Core responsibilities will be to operate as an internal consultant on  spiritual affairs, champion of employee relations and lead on crucial projects to strengthen our faith-based impact locally and internationally.

In addition the Spiritual Director will work in partnership with our resident Chaplain and support our international volunteer programme, SERVE. 

Holding an advisory place on The Nazareth Trust Board, the Spiritual Director will provide an invaluable link between all employees, the Executive team and the Board ofTrustees.


Experience and qualifications required: 

  • Held a senior position in Christian leadership and Ministry
  • Experience of the Arab culture and language
  • Living and operating in a multi faith environment
  • Pastoral/Chaplaincy/Mission field experience
  • Some form of theological or seminary training


The contract will be for 12 months initially.

Salary: £35,000 per annum ( or equivalent) including accommodation.

Location:  Nazareth, Israel
