Cookson Hills is a premiere provider of residential care services to children who come from hard places and require out of home placement while they and their families learn, grow and develop new self management skills and improved family relationships.
This position is central to our Equine therapy/recreational program and requires experience with care, maintenance and training of horses as well as ability and willingness to provide come administrative assistance to the counseling program staff. We seek
a mature Christian person who wants to be a part of a team of professionals focused on offering help, hope and healing to children and families in crisis. 3-5 years experience in equine recreational or therapeutic programs is preferred. The duties of this
position include, but are not limited to: 1. Schedule counseling appointments as directed by the counselors. Maintains the schedule book, publishes weekly counseling schedule to counselors, teachers and appropriate management. 2. Transport residents on campus
from school/home and back for counseling appointments. 3. Prepare for, lead, teach and supervise the Right Reign Horsemanship classes for children ages 8-18. Teach safety skills and horsemanship skills. 4. File and record data about horses and programs as
needed. 5. Horse Riding programs: Assist with preparation and administration of various horsemanship classes and recreational riding programs. 6. Provide first/aid first response as needed for horses and participants. 7. Assist Director of Therapeutic Services
in continual process improvement as requested/needed. 8. Assist with saddle, bridle, and other horse care or equipment care maintenance as needed. 9. Work with and supervise participants doing typical duties around the stable and arena area.
