Know the Company

by Luke Miller

In today’s job market, there’s a temptation to apply to every job posting you find. As long as you’re smart about how you’re applying, and applying for jobs you want, there’s nothing wrong with applying in bulk. When you land an interview, however, don’t just memorize your answers to common interview questions. Take the time to learn about the company with whom you’re interviewing.

Spend some time researching the company’s website. Who are they? How are they structured? What do they do? Who leads the company? The more information you have about the organization, the better the position you’re in to ask good questions and impress your interviewers.

A job can be landed in an interview, or it can crash and burn, so do your homework. Learn as much as you can about the company and the job to which you’re applying before the interview.
