Learning Center Supervisor (Teacher)

Alpha Christian Children's Home and School is accepting resumes and applications for Learning Center Supervisor (a teaching position). The Learning Center currently serves up to 10 children who reside in the home, grades 3-12. Christian curriculum, which is designed to be individual-based, educates the children and allows them to experience success in school, sometimes for the first time.

Candidates do not need to have a state license. The students dual enroll with an accredited distance learning school which takes care of that need. However, upon hire, the candidate would need to undergo training (provided) to be certified to administer the curriculum and run the Learning Center as required to maintain Quality Status for the school upon annual inspection from Accelerated Christian Education representatives.

Alpha is a domestic mission that is all about helping kids who come from a variety of situations where they need a fresh start from whatever brought them here.  We do three things at Alpha.  1.  We unashamedly tell the kids in our care about Jesus Christ.  We feel only He can bring hope and healing from whatever brought them here.  2.  We give the kids a safe and loving place to live while in our care.  We want the kids to experience the love of the family of God, and see the closest thing we can provide to His plan for a family.  3.  We provide the kids in our care with a good education that helps them overcome their past educational struggles, and achieve their dreams.  Unfortunately, many of our kids are a couple of years behind when they arrive.  They will stay here at least one year or longer, and in that time we try to get them caught back up and ready to succeed in their next educational location after leaving our home.  Those that graduate from our school can take their diploma with them into college, the workforce, or the armed services.
