National Support Services Manager
American Heritage Girls

Shares a Christ-like servant leadership spirit while working with the AHG staff, volunteers and general public. Manages and leads the Support Services Department, which includes 5+ direct reports. Oversees the continuous improvement of the Support Service processes and the development of the Team with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output. Responsible for the retention and growth of membership in established areas and Troops within American Heritage Girls. Oversees and assists Support Services Coordinators in building relationships with the assigned Troops through the Troop volunteers.
Specific Duties including, but not limited to:
I. MANAGES THE NATIONAL SUPPORT SERVICE DEPARTMENT
A. Provides management and leadership for the Support Services Department staff and workflow.
B. Plans, directs, and controls the strategic and daily functions of Support Services staff and workflow.
C. Develops and implements the department plan of work through timely delegation and follow through with Support Services staff.
D. Develops and maintains department and inter-department processes and procedures; leads cross-functional process mapping.
E. Responsible for assigning specific projects and resource development to departmental staff as needed.
F. Leads regular department meetings for completion of plan of work, communication and project development.
G. Conducts monthly 1:1 meetings with each department member to ensure accountability and results. Provides coaching and mentoring to department staff.
H. Participates in monthly manager meetings and committees as needed.
A. Develops and manages the department annual budget, working closely with the Finance Director.
B. Uses reports and other tools to assist with managing the department and providing reports to the Executive Director, COO and National Board as needed.
C. Responsible for evaluating the AHG program for all delivery systems using approved metrics and evaluation tools. Ensures implementation and follow through of EOY reports; reviews EOY findings and provides conclusions to the Executive Director, COO and management team.
III. STAFF RECRUITING AND DEVELOPMENT
A. Recruits, selects and trains employees and volunteers to assist with the various tasks of the department.
B. Provides performance reviews/evaluations for employees and department volunteers.
A. Works closely and collaboratively with other departments.
B. Performs all other duties, projects and assignments as requested and/or required.
A. AHG or BSA experience a plus.
B. Four-year college degree required.
C. Management and leadership experience required, 4 to 6 years preferred.
D. Coaching and mentoring experience required.
E. Training or public speaking experience helpful.
F. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing skills.
G. Highly organized, team-minded, and multitasking skills balanced with strategic, attention to detail; yet able to see the big-picture, critical thinking skills.
H. A proven bias for action coachable learner; self-starter, self-motivated, seeks information readily.
I. Experience in a not-for-profit environment is preferred.
J. Agreement with AHG Statement of Faith necessary.
K. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel is necessary. Sequel database experience a plus.
L. Passion for Ministry
M. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
N. Ability to walk long distances and/or stand for long periods of time, on occasion.
