A candidate who desires to make a lasting impact with a forward-looking, growing ministry that is working in some of the neediest countries in the world should apply for the position of Director of African Operations.

Job Skills and Requirements—
Oasis is looking for an experienced candidate to manage, lead, and empower the work of our African partners and develop new business. Strong intercultural communication skills are a must, with management of operations outside the U.S. a strong plus. They should be able to lead in difficult contexts, making decisions and taking decisive action as they build effective partnerships with their African colleagues. A strong understanding of financial tools and ability to build and carry out strategic business plans is needed to fill the positions requirements. A background in publishing or bookselling would be a great advantage.

The candidate must be able to work effectively from home as needed, with strong self-motivation. Regular weekly meetings will be held in Wheaton, IL. We expect the candidate to have a strong belief in the power of literature to change lives and grow the church. Travel for up to three months a year in Africa will be expected. All candidates must be in full agreement with our statement of faith.
The candidate will report directly to the President of Oasis International and work hand in hand with the Chief of U.S. Operations in order to take our work to the next level of development.

Responsibilities Include—
The Director of African Operations of Oasis International will be responsible to develop the systems to manage our growing business, both with customers and the distribution pipeline. They will have direct oversight of our Nigerian subsidiary, with its 25+ staff and two distribution hubs. The job will be successfully accomplished when:

We increase turns by effectively assisting our customers in managing inventory.
We increase cash flow by effective communication with customers.
We increase velocity of sales by assisting customers with marketing efforts.
We decrease goods time in transit by an efficiently managed supply-chain.
We increase sales and velocity by the efficient management of production and printing.
Our partners in Africa increase their impact as they are trained and mentored.
The work expands as Oasis starts work in additional countries and market segments.
The President is enabled to concentrate more fully on building key relationships as the African
operations of Oasis are managed effectively.
