Job Description:
DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS

Urban Youth Impact's mission is to love, equip, and empower inner-city youth and their parents to fulfill their God-given purpose. The Director of Programs reports directly to the President and is responsible for monitoring the operation of the following programs within Urban Youth Impact:

• The Leadership Academy
• Family Empowerment Program
• Internship Program
• Work Program

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supervision of program leadership in the above programs
• Assisting program leaders in hiring, developing and terminating personnel in their programs
• Strategic planning and development for all UYI programs
• Gather from program leaders all pertinent information needed for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports
• Monitor each program to ensure that the goals and objectives of that program are being met
• Help program leaders make any necessary corrections/ adjustments to programs to ensure that goals and objectives or
that program are met
• Maintain on-going communication with all program leaders to ensure any problems are addressed immediately
• Attend program-related meetings/conferences/workshops
• Keep UYI leadership informed on all progress achieved by programs

Job Qualifications:

At a minimum, the Program Director should possess:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related study
• Five years’ experience in program design and implementation
• Experience working with urban youth
• Proven leadership skills
• Excellent decision-making, problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate across socio-economic, cultural, educational, racial, age, and gender lines
• Excellent oral and written skills
