Operation Christmas Child is a dynamic, fast-paced ministry that transforms lives around the world through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are currently seeking a seasoned leader in the marketing /brand development and communications field to provide deliverables that will impact the national and international brand of Operation Christmas Child; will develop and further the brand of the Operation Christmas Child discipleship program, “The Greatest Journey”; and will seek to develop, broaden, expand and protect these brand identities.
The Assistant Director, Brand Development/Operation Christmas Child (OCC) and “The Greatest Journey” (TGJ) Discipleship Program will maintain, protect, and further develop the brand of Operation Christmas Child. The Assistant Director will have input into all OCC brand and marketing related initiatives and for TGJ funding growth potential, with a focus on messaging quality control, brand journalism and brand protection. In this role, the applicant will develop a model to build operational and grassroots funding capacity to potentially enable all eligible OCC recipient children to participate in the OCC discipleship program. Position is also responsible for developing and coordinating appropriate communication regarding TGJ among Samaritan’s Purse (SP) departments. Position works closely with the Director of Operation Christmas Child (Domestic), all other Assistant Directors of OCC, as well as the Director, Donor Engagement/TGJ. A proven track record of success in growing and building promotional relationships is required.
The ideal candidate will:
• Demonstrate proven leadership in brand development.
• Have a history of proposing marketing and promotional campaigns.
• Communicate effectively across a spectrum of leadership within the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.
• Be focused on deliverables and timeline oriented.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and growing ministry.
• Have a passion for children’s evangelism and desire to see more children come to know Jesus Christ as well as become disciples; facilitating the Great Commission through the ministry of Operation Christmas Child.
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Results oriented leader and motivator who can also take direction well.
Responsibilities for this position include travel, with yearly travel averaging 60-80 days/nights per year. Bachelor’s Degree with five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. One year (12 credit hours) of college-level Biblical studies is preferred.
