PREGNANCYCARE OF CINCINNATI'S OPPORTUNITY
PregnancyCare of Cincinnati is seeking a General Manager (Executive Director) to lead a Christian, pro-life, multi-site Pregnancy Care Ministry that wishes to expand. Full-time salaried role with benefits, managing staff and volunteers, reports to the Board of Trustees. Applicants need to have a demonstrated, mature Christian faith and proven management skills. Must be effective with communication, development and setting/meeting priorities. Able to coach a team to achieve better-than-expected results. Set a good personal example of Christ-centered servant leadership. Find new and better ways to love and serve our clients and their babies.
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years leading successful teams required.
Some management or senior leadership experience in Christian ministry preferred.
An exposure to non-profit operating principles, laws and guidelines a must.
Management of Staff
•Coach and develop direct reports (help them develop/review business plans, advise on personnel needs, encourage/enable new skills development).
•Lead staffing process and final approver for all staffing decisions (hiring/terminating/leaves).
•Oversee annual performance reviews for staff.
•Deploy ministry vision/annual plans to the staff, follow-up through the year to ensure progress.
•Ensure clear communication with and among staff and volunteers
External Relations and Fund Development
•Primary representative to pro-life network outside PCC
•Work directly with the Director of Development to meet with new/prospective high potential donors/supporters.
•Leading presence at all major fundraising activities.
•Play a leading role in developing inter-agency relationships with selected strategic groups (shared responsibility with Board members, to identify which groups, and who from PCC is best equipped to pursue the relationship)
Business and Financial Oversight
•Ensure annual refresh of ministry’s business calendar and check for fit with external events/factors events. Includes SOHLS (January), Volunteer Trainings, Spring Banquet, Walk for Life, Staff Retreat, and Volunteer Appreciation Event.
•Ensure accurate and complete financial records maintained by Business Director, and that spending is consistent with approved budget. Adjust budget to reflect funding shortfalls.
•Lead process to prepare annual Ministry and Budget Plan (approved during October Board meeting).
•Recommend formation of new policies/procedures for running of PCC and oversee application of same as needed. (process led by Director of Business Administration who is expected to draw upon staff and Board expertise as needed to develop/revise policies).
•Provide monthly operations and ministry results report to the Board, including surfacing emerging issues/concerns/opportunities that could benefit from Board action/input/prayer. Attend Board meetings unless otherwise specified
Prayer and Strategy Development
•Schedule and maintain time for personal prayer/reflection weekly.
•Maintain a regular accountability/support relationship with two board members (or two non-board members who are agreed by the Board). This to help ensure the GM maintains a strong personal walk with Christ, and an ongoing personal balance in their life. Individuals need to be same gender as the GM.
•Reapply ideas and insights gathered from the GM’s external network by providing recommendations for strategy changes to the Board (any time during the year). Participate in and help shape outcome of the annual Board Retreat (November).
