SALEM LA is comprised of four radio stations – KKLA-FM (Christian Teaching/Talk), KFSH-FM, (Contemporary Christian
Music) KRLA-AM (Conservative Talk) and KTIE-AM (Conservative Talk.) SALEM LA is a member of Salem Communications
Corporation, the nation’s largest operator of Conservative Talk, Christian and family themed radio stations, radio networks,
Christian media and entertainment, Internet aggregators, e-commerce, new media and streaming.
II. Job Title:
Webmaster – 870 KRLA & 590 KTIE
40 Hours Per week/5 Days per Week with periodic weekend/evening hours. This position requires a non-traditional work schedule of 5:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
Full-Time hourly salary and benefits, including medical, dental, 401K plan, Cafeteria Flex-Benefit plan, paid vacation and
sick time, paid parking. On occasion additional hours, including nights and weekends may be required to meet deadlines,
execute updates and back-ups and for special station promotional events.
V. Reports to:
Salem LA Vice-President of Operations.
VI. Departmental Relationships:
This position will also work closely with other departments, including IT, Promotions, Sales/Marketing, Production,
Traffic/Continuity, Administrative and Operations/Programming. This position supports all other departments.
SALEM LA is looking for a well-rounded, mature and skilled individual who has a pleasant, outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic
personality who can effectively organize, manage and coordinate multiple responsibilities and tasks. KRLA/KTIE are
Conservative talk stations. Applicants should have an affinity for conservative political theory and social positions, being able to
identify and interact with our station and program host political and social viewpoints and beliefs.
VIII. Job Responsibilities and Pre-Requisites:
The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate and oversee the daily updating and operation of 870 KRLA and 590
KTIE web initiatives, including regular website updates, maintenance, design, coordination and sales and promotional projects. This includes on-line/e-mail newsletters, Twitter, Facebook, station listener clubs/incentive programs and other on-line social networking interactions, coordinating, scheduling and producing on-line streaming video/audio pre-rolls, banner ads and custom sales and promotional new media events and materials. This position will be responsible for scheduling and
coordinating in-stream ad insertion activities. This position will interface with and work directly with the KKLA and KFSH
Webmasters, cross training and providing as needed, emergency, sick and vacation support and cooperative production and
design of all web and new media related content and projects. This position may also help recruit, train and supervise a variety
of web and new media interns and students.
This position requires interpersonal communication skills and the ability of working with multiple departments, individuals and
personalities. Candidates need basic knowledge of telecommunications systems, including e-mail, fax and phone, computer
operational proficiency, (Windows 7) including knowledge of scanning equipment, removable media (USB/DVD/CDR/CDRW),
graphic design experience with Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Suite (5), and working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity
required. Coldfusion experience would be an added benefit.
Candidate must possess superior writing ability, including spelling, grammar and sentence structure. Candidate will need to be
able to take bullet points and create appropriate text copy for display on web sites.
Candidate will attend multiple meetings with various departments to stay informed as to current and future projects. Candidate
will need to make presentations, share status and project updates, make recommendations, schedule deadlines, and follow through
with information requests and research questions.
Candidate must also have a good understanding of business forms and how they are used (web based, contracts, order forms etc.) Candidate should have a passion for keeping up to date on web developments, new technologies and market trends.
