Shares a Christ-like servant leadership spirit while working with the AHG staff, volunteers and general public. Manages and leads the Support Services Department, which includes 5+ direct reports. Oversees the continuous improvement of the Support Service processes and the development of the team with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output. Responsible for the retention and growth of membership in established Troops within American Heritage Girls. Oversees and assists Support Services Coordinators in building relationships with the local Troops through the Troop Coordinator and Charter Representative.
Specific Duties including, but not limited to:
I. Volunteer Growth and Support
A. Plan, lead, direct, and control Support Services Department and Staff.
B. Provides management and leadership for the Support Services Department.
C. Develops and implements the department plan of work. Develops and maintains department and inter-department processes and procedures.
D. Responsible for assigning specific projects and resource development to departmental staff as needed.
E. Provides monthly department meetings for completion of plan of work, communication and project development.
F. Develops and manages the department annual budget, working closely with the Accounting Manager. Participates in monthly manager meetings and committees as needed.
G. Uses reports and other tools to assist with managing the department and providing reports to the Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, and National Board as needed.
H. Responsible for evaluating the AHG program for all delivery systems using approved metrics and evaluation tools.
I. Recruits, selects and trains employees and volunteers to assist with the various tasks of the department.
J. Provides performance reviews/evaluations for employees and department volunteers.
K. Works closely with other departments, working collaboratively.
L. Performs all other duties as requested and/or required.
A. College degree required.
B. Management and leadership experience required; 4 to 6 years preferred.
C. Coaching, mentoring experience required.
D. Training or public speaking experience helpful.
E. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing skills.
F. Highly organized, team-minded, multitasking individual is required.
G. Experience in a not-for-profit environment is preferred.
H. Agreement with AHG Statement of Faith necessary.
I. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Word, Excel necessary. Access or Sequel database experience needed.
J. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
K. Ability to walk long distances and/or stand for long periods of time, on occasion.
