Business Systems Analyst - IT

Position: Business Systems Analyst
FLSA Status: Exempt
Prepared By: Vice President of Technology
Prepare Date: February 17, 2012
Reports to: Vice President of Technology

Summary of Expected Outcomes:
Collaborate with organization leaders to assess and prioritize high priority technology enablement opportunities and ensure they meet agreed upon requirements on delivery.

Personally the candidate’s life shall reflect:

• The gift of listening and responding appropriately to the counsel of others
• The gift of discernment when responding to employees and their requests

• Assists organization leaders in analyzing operations, identifying opportunities to improve processes and functions, and justifying appropriate investments
• Collects, analyzes, and communicates organization needs and requirements for technology solutions in collaboration with organization leaders
• Coordinates with developers and partners to design effective technology solutions and ensure delivered solutions meet stated needs
• Identifies high potential technology solutions based on strong understanding of the organization and ongoing knowledge of applicable technology trends
• Integrally involved in “buy vs build” decisions

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field preferred
2. 4 to 7 years of experience as an analyst with a business or non-profit organization preferred
3. Demonstrated expertise in:
• Requirements documentation, especially using Agile methods and Use cases
• Business case development and ROI analysis
• Vendor evaluation, especially RFI/RFP
• Process design and reengineering
• Testing management
• Facilitation and JAD techniques
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
5. Experience with non-profit associations using CRM, financial, and eCommerce applications is desired

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• Employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, and talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read at close range.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Progress made on personal and professional mutually agreed upon goals submitted annually.

The Business Systems Analyst shall be:
• In agreement with the job description
• In agreement with the policies and ethical guidelines of ACSI
• Responsible to the Vice President of Technology

Salary and Benefits:
Salary and benefits are established within the guidelines of ACSI policies.
