Job Description:
Director of Christian (New Generation) Leadership Initiative

As one of the 2011 Top 50 Non-Profits to Work For, The International Fellowship of Christians & Jews has an exciting opportunity available for a skilled, resourceful, and motivated individual who would like to make a difference in the lives of others in helping a non-for-profit humanitarian organization fulfill its mission. We are presently in search of a Director of New Generation Leadership Initiative.

Reporting to the VP of Communications, this position is responsible for establishing and conducting programs to contact and engage next generation Christian leaders, activists, and potential supporters, to build a foundation for the continuing and greater involvement by Christians in IFCJ work for decades to come. This is NOT a role for youth pastors or ministers, but rather for an individual with strong connections to new generation evangelical and other Christian leaders, key pastors, and other influencers.

Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

Relationship Building: Establish working relationships with new generation evangelical and other Christian leaders, key pastors, and other influencers, and secure their interest, endorsements, and involvement in IFCJ work and causes.

Engagement: Develop and manage public campaigns and programs that will interest next generation Christians and provide entry points for involvement in IFCJ work.

Colleges/Seminaries: Collaborate with other IFCJ departments in the development and management of onsite and online classes, and work-study programs in Israel--in conjunction with evangelical colleges and seminaries and their students.

Presence: Manage an active schedule of placements and appearances at conferences, denominational or major church gatherings, and other meetings that provide broad visibility and engagement with young evangelicals.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or religious studies or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in church leadership or non-profit management or communications. Minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience, with strong teambuilding and leadership skills preferred.

Knowledge of and experience communicating with evangelical Christian audiences.

Experience contacting and developing relationships with Christian leaders and pastors.

Experience in the development of academic programs and broad-based “win-win” coalitions preferred.

Superior and passionate public speaking style.

Deep knowledge of the evangelical Christian community and Christian faith.

Some knowledge about Judaism and Israel.

Ability to digest complex political and religious issues; familiar with issues associated with Christian-Jewish relations.

Excellent knowledge of current events in the Middle East and related issues in the United States and elsewhere.

Strong attention to detail; strong analytical and organization skills.

Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Intermediate proficiency level in general website content management and software programs.
