Job Description:
Job Summary This position contributes to the mission of the organization by directing Medical Teams International development efforts in Illinois.

Act as General Manager for overseeing awareness and growth of Medical Teams International in the major markets in Illinois area.
Coordinate and implement annual goals, budgets and action plans for the Chicago office.
Coordinate a donor and major donor fundraising plan for Illinois.
With outside help as needed, support a public relations/media plan for Medical Teams International in Illinois.
In the absence of the VP/Development, serve as a spokesperson for Medical Teams International in Illinois.
Oversee fundraising events.
Personally cultivate and solicit annual gifts from approximately 50 major donors and prospects in an effort to reach an annual revenue goal of $1,000,000.
Manage the volunteer team recruitment process in Illinois.
Manage relationships with key organizational partners (churches, corporations, universities, relief and development groups, other Christian organizations) in Illinois.
Assist in creating a volunteer-friendly environment where opportunities for volunteerism are encouraged.
When appropriate, incorporate the use of volunteers in daily job functions.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications


College degree in related field (business, social services, health sciences).
Seven to ten years of successful non-profit management experience including demonstrated experience in hiring, evaluating and supervising fundraising staff.
Demonstrated success in growing income for a development team.
Demonstrated success in raising funds in the greater-Chicago area Christian community.
Knowledge of and relationships with key Christian and media groups in the greater Chicago area.
Valid passport.
