Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) headquarters has recently retained our executive search firm to assist in locating a US Western Regional Development Manager to support Presbyterian World Missions.
Witnessing to the world as far back as 1837, the General Assembly Council of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) [hereinafter PCUSA] has shared the good news of Jesus Christ with the world. Engaged in extensive missions work in 60 countries, Presbyterian World Mission programs seek to alleviate hunger, foster self-development, respond to disasters, support mission works, preach the gospel, heal the sick, and educate new generations for the future. In partnership with more than 150 churches and Christian organizations around the world, the missionary efforts of PCUSA involve approximately 1,000 volunteers and compensated personnel. Its membership consists of more than 2.3 million individuals, 11,000 congregations, and 21,000 ordained ministers in all 50 states.
Reporting to the Director of Funds Development Ministry, this individual will work with Funds Development and Program Leadership Teams to enhance the Presbyterian World Mission program area and target individuals to engage them in the ministry of Presbyterian World Mission. Executes major gift fundraising best practices and responsible for building a regional portfolio of major donors by developing stronger and more supportive partnerships with the already loyal donors who give to World Missions. Building the Major Donor Program to its potential will be a key focus of this major donor specialist. This department currently raises $12 million with an impressive pass-through of 95% going directly to missions. Some regional travel is expected.
We seek an individual with at least three or more years of fundraising or sales experience. The individual will have been in charge of a portfolio of 100+ individual contacts, with experience securing major gift commitments of $10,000+. Up-to-date knowledge of technology software using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Raiser’s Edge is recommended. A Bachelor degree or equivalent is expected. Training in donor development or sales at the executive level is a plus. The selected individual will be a strong, spiritual executive who shares the passion and conviction of ministry.
