Job Description:
Job Title: Paralegal

Position Overview: Paralegal must be task-oriented, versatile, and efficient and cable of working independently and collaboratively. Paralegal assists and provides a range of legal and administrative support to lawyers and other legal professionals.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations
- Perform legal and administrative records research
- Organize and analyze legal and administrative information
- Assist in the research and preparation of legal arguments and applications
- Draft and prepare legal and administrative documents
- Copy-edit and review legal and administrative documents
- Prepare client correspondence (in written, oral, and outline form)
- Check and validate legal forms and documents for accuracy
- Transmit legal documents (via electronic mail, courier mail, personal delivery)
- Maintain, organize and track client files
- Communicate with client re regular updates on case status

Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree, Associates degree or Certificate Program in paralegal or legal studies
- Paralegal or Legal Assistant experience/certification preferred
- Thorough knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and research techniques
- Relevant computer knowledge, experience and use

Christian owned law firm and consulting practice located in Columbia, Maryland. We are a small law firm focused on Food and Drug administrative law for international clients. The firm also performs general business law and provides litigation consulting. The practice is very busy, innovative, and challenging. The work environment is casual and friendly.
