Alliance Redwoods is now taking applications for Canopy Tour Guides!
Become a canopy tour guide and run Zip-line Canopy tours for groups of people through our brand new Canopy Tour in the coastal redwoods of Northern California! We are currently looking for energetic, enthusiastic individuals to join our Canopy Tour guide team. We are creating a team that is motivated to provide our guest with a unique, world-class adventure experience that combines a touch of Disney via its excellence in programming and hospitality; engaging introduction to the history and unique eco-system in our coastal redwood forest; and an awe-inspiring adrenaline rush as we soar through of our majestic redwoods often at heights of over 100-feet above the canopy floor and our longest zip is around 800 feet long. Our canopy tour consists of 8 zips, 2 sky bridges, a spiral-staircase and an 80’ rappel.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Energetic, enthusiastic, self motivated, strong communication skills
• Contribute to a positive, supportive team atmosphere & model a “can-do” attitude
• Willingness to learn; demonstrate
• Responsible, reliable, punctual & committed to job
• Excited about engaging people & sharing the wonder of the coastal redwood forest eco-system, local history and culture
• Family friendly, pleasant & courteous in all interactions with our guests
• Flexible schedule
• Able to work at heights in excess of 50 feet above ground level
• Must successfully complete guide training course with a passing score of 80% on written exam & sufficient skill proficiency during practical testing to meet industry criteria
• In harmony with Alliance Redwood’s Statement of Faith
• Able to make risk management decisions
• Must complete or have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (classes may be available for those without current certifications)

• Arrive ready to work as scheduled for guide responsibilities as requested by Supervisor
• Meet & greet Canopy Tour guests
• Maintains a good sense of humor and cooperative attitude in dealing with all guests
• Treats guests in a manner that makes them feel respected, valued and cared for
• Assisting participants with gearing-up, safety orientation & ground school
• Guiding participants safely through every element of our Canopy Tour
• Pointing out items of interest including ecology, geology, local animal inhabitants, types of trees, local history and parent organization
• Manage risky behavior and maintain control of the tour group at all times
• Responsible for personal safety and safety of others
• Some maintenance tasks related to Guide Shed, Welcome Center, trail and forest cleanup
• Communicates well with co-workers, Supervisor, and ARCG Team Leaders. Is expected to behave in a professional manner at all times
• Daily safety checks — course and equipment
• Daily tour evaluation reports
• Ongoing training
