Samaritan's Purse is seeking an experienced manager of volunteers to serve as REGIONAL MANAGER, OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SOUTHWEST REGION. In partnership with the Regional Director, the Regional Manager will recruit, select, train, and lead year-round volunteers to coordinate and run the effort to collect shoebox gifts for the neediest children worldwide.
Operation Christmas Child focuses on one mission: To demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The REGIONAL MANAGER recruits and retains participation in the Operation Christmas Child program through local churches, schools, community groups and corporate relationships; develops and facilitates prayer support; builds media awareness and serves as regional media spokesperson; communicates regularly with volunteers; spiritually shepherds and leads volunteers to grow in their relationship with the Lord while mentoring and modeling a Christian life.
In addition to the year round duties, the Regional Manager will serve on the management team at the Denver Processing Center for 3-4 weeks during late November until mid-December to assist with shoebox gifts inspection and preparation for overseas shipment. Responsibilities also include travel (60-80 days) throughout Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in volunteer management, strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to motivate and lead volunteer teams in implementing program goals. A Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from a four-year college or university and two or more years related volunteer management & leadership experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
