CRISTA Ministries, a 60-year-old nonprofit ranked as the third largest in the Seattle Area, has recently retained our executive search firm to assist in locating a Vice President of Fund Development.
CRISTA is a family of seven vibrant Christian ministries with approximately 2,000 employees that fulfill its mission by demonstrating the love of God by serving people and drawing them into a transforming relationship with Christ. Located in Seattle, Washington, with a budget nearing $150 million, CRISTA is known around the world for its diverse professional ministries which are: World Concern, Christian Veterinary Mission, three radio broadcasting stations, continuing care retirement centers, King’s Schools, Seattle Urban Academy, and CRISTA camps (http://crista.org/). Three entities, the two in international relief and development and the urban academy are entirely funded by donations. The other four entities receive fee for services but are partially donor funded. A corporate executive team and a 21 member Board of Trustees lead CRISTA Ministries.
Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President leads a team of 12 in donor development, which currently generates approximately $20 million across the organization. The successful candidate will have the focus of responsibilities to lead solicitation of gifts through individuals, churches, corporations, government grants, and foundations for a complex yet very dynamic group.
We seek a strategic individual with at least 10 years of fundraising experience, at least three of those years in a key leadership role. The individual will have performed in leadership, charting the course in funds development or management of the sales of intangibles in a B2C setting. This individual will have been in charge of reaching objectives raising $5 million or above annually. It is expected the individual has worked on a national level and may have interacted on global issues. The selected person will be a strong, spiritual, executive leader who shares the passion and conviction of CRISTA’s ministry.
Executive compensation is comparable to other nonprofits and includes a solid benefits package. This is an outstanding career ministry opportunity with a premiere Christian organization.
