Boone, NC - Immediate opening for a highly experienced Chef to continue current standards of excellence, serving daily staff lunches and other special events. Typical work week, Monday thru Friday, 7:00-3:30
(with other functions on occasion).
The Chef reports to the Food Service Manager and is responsible for:
• Developing and recommending menus based on cost and quantity,
• Assisting Food Service Manager in ordering food based on approved menus and estimated consumption,
• Preparation of food and supervision of staff engaged in preparing food according to approved recipes,
• Maintaining the highest possible quality, nutrition, and sanitation standards.
Qualified candidate will be a capable self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, detail oriented, thorough and accurate, capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment. Position requires a high degree of flexibility and the ability to track, manage and prioritize tasks, meet strict deadlines, and work in stressful situations. Requires professional food service/chef training with at least five years’ of related experience.
