Job Description:
Lee's Summit Community Church is adding a part-time Communications Coordinator to our team. Qualified applicants have strong written communication skills, a penchant for marketing and a vision for communicating the Gospel to a 21st century culture. This team member will work closely with our Visual Arts Director to create content to be used inside and outside the church in various formats (such as print, web, video, etc.) and will be the point person for our church-wide communication strategy. Specific Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement church wide communication strategy.
+ Collaborate with staff members to translate their written communication projects into a final product.
+ Communication projects include: weekly communication agenda and bulletin, weekly e-news, social media and other online
presence, media relations, advertising, brochures and posters.
+ Organize a professional and logical creative process for each project from concept to reality, providing quality control,
precision and accuracy along the way in order to meet deadlines.
+ Recruit, lead and utilize a team of volunteers who will assist in all areas of written communication; provide training and
ongoing communication to the team.
+ Archive all digital communications including bulletins, Web content, audio files, photos, brochures and more.
+ Manage a budget for your service area.

Required Skills
+ Background or degree in English or journalism
+ Professional experience writing/editing in a ministry or business setting
+ Excellent writing and editing skills
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
+ Strong organizational and administrative skills
+ Ability to meet regular deadlines
+ Ability to coach and coordinate volunteer writers/editors
+ Ability to collaborate with and serve team members
+ Ability to be flexible with rapidly-changing needs and schedules
