Sales/Promotions Assistant Position:
Salem Communications-Houston has an exciting and rewarding opportunity in its Sales Department. We are looking for a qualified candidate to assist the General Sales Manager and Sales department in a variety of ways.
Assisting the Sales department in the creative process when crafting client advertising campaigns, including writing effective spot copy, designing web banners and pages for the Salem Houston websites, creating PowerPoint presentations, etc. Position also requires sharing receptionist duties on occasion (answering the phone in a professional and courteous manner); interfacing with clients and listeners; managing office supply orders. In addition, this position handles EEO Officer duties; including wide dissemination of full-time job openings, maintenance of the FCC’s EEO file, preparation of the annual EEO Report, and scheduling and attending job fairs when necessary. The ideal candidate should possess superlative written and verbal communication skills, be creative while able to keep things organized, and must be a team player with a can-do attitude. Candidate must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, familiarity with photo editing software such as Photoshop, web development software such as Dreamweaver, and the ability to work with HTML is preferred. Being internet savvy is a definite plus, especially regarding social networking such as Facebook and Twitter. Candidate must be able to attend station events.
