Job Description:
Salem Communications Corporation is a leading broadcaster of religious programming and informative talk. The company owns and operates commercial radio stations in major markets throughout the United States. Salem Communications Tampa is looking for an extremely organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team in managing the day-to-day operations of our four-station cluster. This individual will work closely with the General Manager and all department heads to ensure the proper execution of station formats and growth of both our listening audience and revenue generating opportunities.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Execution of Salem’s News/Talk and Christian Teaching and Talk formats to include:
o Administration of the Rivendell automation system
o Developing show clocks for use with the automation system
o Remote monitoring of the automation system during unattended hours
o Tracking and resolving automation errors
• Supervises On Air Studio Engineering staff to include:
o Selection and placement of new staff as studio needs develop
o Designing and managing schedules for studio staff
o Providing on-going training and development for studio staff
• Produces and directs live talk programs
• Records and produces pre-recorded programs
• Collaborates with sales staff to create new streams of revenue via joint sales/programming initiatives on-air and on-line.
• Executes all components necessary to complete the following reports:
o Quarterly Issues and Program Report as required by the FCC
o On-line quarterly BMI report for music reporting
o On-line monthly programming/commercial affidavits for various network programs
• Completes a daily log check and returns previous days logs to traffic department

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• BS Communication, Marketing or Business Administration or comparable experience in this field
• 5+ years experience in the radio industry is essential

Required Skills:
• Ideal candidate should be a self-starter who is highly motivated, dependable, energetic, and displays professionalism and enthusiasm when representing the company.
• Must demonstrate problem-solving and time management skills
• Must have excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to multi-task and work in a high pressure environment
• Must be experienced with Adobe Audition or equivalent audio editing software and have a thorough working knowledge of digital audio automation systems
• Must be innovative and strategic in leading the programming team with a hands-on approach in the areas of talent management, promotion execution, digital audience growth, and marketing

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in Operations Management
• Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations
• Extensive background in programming multiple spoken word formats
