Job Description:
Program Director located in Escuela Caribe is held responsible to:

1.) Oversee the efficient running of the entire program. This includes the educational, spiritual, and behavioral
needs of the students, job related staff needs and physical plant management and maintenance.

2.) Build warm, positive, redemptive relationships with all students and staff.

3.) Directly supervise Department Heads, Business Manager and the Administrative Secretary.

4.) Oversee Department Heads in updating staff job descriptions on a yearly basis.

5.) Work with Department Head in finalizing hiring and placement of staff.

6.) Advise and counsel staff while working to bring resolve to staff conflicts holding all accountable to practice
the Matthew 18 principle.

7.) Be in charge of all physical property of the school, make sure that all property is in good repair.

8.) Oversee and properly plan all major capital construction projects submitting all needed forms for approval
to the Board and Administration of NHYM.

9.) Oversee and plan all major capital expenditures securing two-to-three cost proposals before submitting for
purchase approval to the Board and Administration of NHYM.

10.) Oversee school finances which including developing a capital needs budget, setting department wide goals
and yearly submitting a annual budget proposal for consideration.

11.) Maintain public relations in the Dominican community through involvement in needed social functions, professional appearances, club and government public meetings. This will also require meeting the needs of the community of Jarabacoa during times of natural disaster by providing clean up crews for support and weekly involvement in community service projects.

12.) Conduct main staff meetings every Monday morning.

13.) Meet with all Department Heads weekly for planning, organization, and
prayer as needed.

14.) Act as liaison with student's parents and be responsible for any casework decisions regarding students which includes investing time on the telephone and by attending parent meetings as needed in the United States. The Director should also make it a point to attend as many parent meetings on campus (following parent visits) as physically possible.

15.) Be the ultimate disciplinarian of students.

16.) Perform crisis intervention for students.

17.) Formulate and interpret program and school policy to staff and parents.

18.) Oversee all medical emergencies delegating this task to no one.

19.) Authorize student doctor's visits when needed.

20.) Approve all staff vacations of 7 days or more as well as leave of absences.

21.) Approve all staff extra, personal and bonus days off.

22.) Take a meal in a student residence as often as possible.

23.) Act as liaison between Escuela Caribe and NHYM concerning personnel and policy issues.

24.) Attend all Therapeutic guidance meetings and oversee treatment goals for students including giving
over site and support to pharmacological needs of students so decided by consulting Psychiatrist.

25.) Coordinate transportation in and out of program and the country.

26.) Monitor legal status of each student and staff including overseeing the security of all travel documents.
Report to the U.S. and Canadian Consulate on the status of each person and keep the registry of each up to
date.

27.) To reside on campus as board ordered so as to be in touch with campus life and available for
student behavioral crises or those of a medical nature.

28.) To have nor support any contact with US media personnel unless previously approved by the
New Horizons CEO. Local media in Jarabacoa will be decided on as come basis.

29.) Attend weekly Director’s and Therapeutic meetings by phone communicating by the submission of
respective agendas for each meeting.

30.) Other duties as assigned by the New Horizons CEO and the Board of New
Horizons Youth Ministries.
