More than one billion people in our world struggle to survive without safe water. Almost two-fifths of our world’s population (2.6 billion people) lacks the security and dignity of a simple latrine. Lifewater International is committed to working toward a world where all people have access to these essential resources.

Established in 1977, Lifewater International is a Christian training organization that specializes in water development, sanitation, and hygiene education. Lifewater trains qualified volunteer field trainers in North America who in turn train Lifewater-selected international partner organizations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Partners use these skills to provide safe water, sanitation, and hygiene education in local communities. All Lifewater training programs are rooted in participatory development principles and holistic approaches to community transformation.
