Job Description:
We have two separate Heavy Equipment positions for you to review below open in Haiti. One (1) job is for an Operator and the Second job (2) is for a Mechanic. When applying please pay close attention to which one you are applying for, thank you.

Heavy Equipment OPERATOR, Haiti (330)

SUMMARY
The Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible to operate various types of heavy equipment for Samaritan’s Purse in Haiti. Areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to equipment operation and maintenance of equipment. When appropriate, this position will provide support for Program Manage – Rubble Removal.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• To operate heavy equipment for projects in SP Haiti
• To safety protocols and up keep of safety logs.
• May assist in the training of national staff on use and safety related to operations of heavy equipment
• Maintain a lifestyle consistent with Jesus Christ in words and actions.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Associates degree or equivalent; 1-2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Class A CDL
• English required; French/Creole language skills a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year proven experience in the area of heavy equipment operations
• Experience working in areas of construction, demolition or other related field, in a disaster context preferred.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• Agreement and compliance with the Samaritan’s purse statement of faith and policies

Length of contract: 12 months
Target date to the field: October 2010

Heavy Equipment MECHANIC, Haiti (499)

Haiti - The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible to maintain and repair various types of heavy equipment for Samaritan’s Purse in Haiti including: bulldozers, excavators, front end loaders and dump trucks. Areas of responsibilities will include repair, maintenance and operation of heavy equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• To maintain and repair all heavy equipment in SP Haiti including: bulldozers, excavators, front end loaders and dump trucks
• To procure spare parts needed for maintenance and repair
• To maintain safety protocols and upkeep of safety logs
• May assist in training national staff on repair and maintenance of heavy equipment
• May assist in the training national staff on use and safety related operations of heavy equipment
• Able to operate heavy equipment including: bulldozers, excavators, front end loaders and dump trucks
• Maintain a lifestyle consistent with Jesus Christ in words and actions
