Job Description:
Salem Communications is a leading U.S. radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, and magazine and book publisher targeting audiences interested in Christian and family-themed content and conservative values. The company owns and operates commercial radio stations in major markets throughout the United States. Salem Communications San Francisco is looking for a well organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of our station’s promotional activities. KFAX is a Christian Talk format and KDOW is a Business format.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Ideal candidate should be a self-starter, creative, and highly motivated • Must be dependable and energetic • Should display professionalism and enthusiasm when representing the company • Must have good decision-making skills and should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and image editing • Must be proficient with the tools and languages used in building/maintaining web sites, particularly HTML and CSS • Must have a working knowledge of web programs including Macromedia’s Dreamweaver/Flash and web-based user interfaces. And, a basic knowledge of e-mail distribution lists and web-based e-mail marketing programs such as UnityMail, StormPost, etc. • Must have a valid driver’s license • Must have the physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds as required

Role and Responsibilities:
Creates and coordinates all aspects related to paid, trade, and advertiser-based events • Supervises the set-up and execution of station’s on-site promotions, remotes, and appearances • Collaborates in the development and execution of major station events which include a Pastors Appreciation Breakfast, Women in Ministry Brunch, Speaker Series and Financial Forums • Manages all promotional web, internet, and print activity • Creates monthly newsletters (e-mail and printed) and other printed pieces for marketing and promotional purposes • Assists in the conception of new promotional and marketing ideas to increase listener participation and revenue • Performs necessary functions connected to station contests/on-air prize giveaways • Consults with Sales Department

Education Requirements:
Ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Public Relations or comparable experience in this field. Three to five years experience in radio promotions is preferred
