Regional Development Officer, Southern US
L W Foote Company
Dallas, Texas, United States
Date Posted: 10/01/2010
Job Type: Full-Time
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) headquarters has recently retained our executive search firm to assist in locating a Southern Regional Development Officer as part of a new development team committed to building major donor relations in support of Presbyterian World Mission.
Our client, in partnership with 11,000 member congregations across the U.S., has been engaged in extensive mission activities throughout the world since 1837. With programs in 60 different countries and 400 compensated personnel it seeks to alleviate hunger, foster self-development, respond to disasters, support mission works, preach the gospel, heal the sick, and educate new generations for the future.
Reporting to the Director of Funds Development Ministry, and working with a team of development professionals, the Regional Development Officer will be responsible for execution of the Southern Region’s major gifts program securing donor commitments. With best practices in mind, the focus is to retain, upgrade, and build new relationships with the committed 10,000 major donors that currently give to Presbyterian World Mission. Some regional travel should be expected.
We seek an individual with at least three or more years of fundraising or sales experience. The individual will have been in charge of a portfolio of 100+ individual contacts, with experience securing $10,000 commitments. Up-to-date knowledge of technology software using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Raiser’s Edge is recommended. The selected individual will be a strong, spiritual executive who shares the passion and conviction of ministry.
Compensation is comparable to other nonprofits and includes a superior benefits package. This is an outstanding career ministry opportunity as a servant leader supporting the Presbyterian World Mission.
If you are aware of anyone with whom you feel we should be in contact regarding this opportunity, please communicate with me directly.
