Job Summary:
The Marketing Strategies Director will be a dynamic marketing professional to take the lead in developing a marketing program for FWM as it pertains to the strategic plan. This position is seeking a seasoned marketing professional with a demonstrated track record as a creative leader, manager, negotiator, and strategist. Successful candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively with the board of directors, senior leadership, staff, donors, volunteers, media and other groups. This position requires experience at the leadership level, the ability to thrive in a changing environment, and a demonstrated success in marketing and communication of a large nonprofit or corporation is critical. This position will work closely with the marketing and development team, and report directly to the Executive Director.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct, manage, and coordinate marketing strategies of all staff
• Manage internal and external communication policies
• Recommend prospects for new marketing opportunities
• Achieve frequent, timely and positive media coverage for FWM across all available media
• Develop and implement an organization-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute effectively
• Manage and execute agency publications including newsletters, electronic news updates, annual report, brochures and other promotional material, and occasional publications that reflect FWM activities, and special events
• Establish, manage, and monitor annual marketing budget, tracking quarterly progress against projections and reporting regularly to senior management
• Ensure that FWM marketing plan is carried out in keeping with FWM’s mission, vision, and values
• Motivate and energize board members to participate in marketing opportunities
• Ensure effective and complete reporting to FWM senior managers and Board of Directors
• Available to travel locally and internationally for organization purposes
• Participate in staff development and fundraising events
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned in support of daily job duties by direct supervisor
• Share the message of Free Wheelchair Mission and our vision

Experience Required:
• At minimum of at least 7 to 10 years experience developing and executing marketing programs including online marketing
• Demonstrated ability to provide management oversight, leadership, and direction with at least three years of supervisory experience
• Established track record of successful and effective marketing strategies with measurable results
• Hold a strong background in all components of marketing, communications, public relations, and media development
• Access to media and marketing contacts locally and nationally
• Familiarity with missionary organizations or disabilities beneficial
• Experience in the non-profit or philanthropic sectors highly desirable
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S. / B.A.) from an accredited college or university in the field of English, communication, marketing, journalism, and/or public relations
• Master’s degree preferred

Knowledge and Critical Skills:
• Outstanding verbal, written, and e-mail communication skills that can articulate a compelling case for donating to Free Wheelchair Mission. Articulate effectively, intelligently, credibly, and passionately the story of FWM, the nature of international disability needs, and the sense of urgency for donors to contribute
• Evaluate the effectiveness of FWM marketing tools for a variety of audiences and individuals – including both Christian and secular
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact diplomatically with diverse donors and groups
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and proficiency in using computer software and knowledge of donor base management; experience with Raiser’s Edge database a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, problem solve, and work as part of a team
• Willingness and available to work occasional evenings and weekends
• Demonstrate leadership abilities for evaluating strategic needs, developing strategies, task oriented team building, team mobilization, and management
• Show discipline with priorities; and comfortable in relating to a wide variety of people and cultures
• Ability to travel extensively in a global team of professionals
• Must meet agency conditions for employment
