Job Description:

Weekday Religious Education (WRE) is a Christian-based, non-denominational program in affiliation with the Virginia Weekday Religious Education Association (VWREA) a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation wherein the public schools with the parents’ written permission, release for a specified time children in grades K-6 to go off-campus facilities for Christian religious education. There are currently 12,000 students with 47 teachers in WRE. See VAWRE.org web site.

VWREA seeks an Executive Director who will be responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of VWREA and implementing the goals and vision of the organization. The Executive Director interfaces with elected officials, staff members, contractors, and alumni to facilitate and foster growth in the program outreach as well as to foster fundraising efforts. The Executive Director should be willing to attend state WRE council meetings, conferences, and board meetings. Working with the treasurer of VWREA, will report to the board 501(c)3 status, financial reports and legal requirements. The Executive Director reports directly to the VWREA Board of Directors. Required: BS or MS, volunteer or paid evangelistic missions management experience. Required skills include web-based application, Microsoft or Mac program capabilities.
