This role provides leadership and overall direction and management of the IT security and technology governance program, which includes resource management and coordination. This role will establish the direction of numerous projects, ensuring consistency with corporate strategy integration, coordination, timing and consistency of process throughout the ministry. Also responsible for being an advocate and point of contact for the IT security/technology roadmap and compliancy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
Contributes to the leadership of a highly effective IT function. Assists in the transformation of Compassion’s IT Security/Technology Program into a high performance organization.
Manages the unique needs of the IT department’s security and technology projects and processes, setting a strong and defined approach geared towards meeting the continually changing landscape of security and technology governance.
Actively serves as the key resource in regards to services, projects, audits and assessments, which are critical for the future security of the ministry.
Works closely with both internal and external customers in assessing security/technology project needs and strategies.
Proven written and verbal presentation skills. Ability to translate highly technical information into laymen's terms for non-technical audiences.
Continuous improvement in development methodologies as they relate to security/technology initiatives while still remaining within Compassion standards.
Knowledge and experience in organizational design including culture, organizational structure (workflow), internal economy (activity based budgeting and pricing methods), organization-wide methods, and metrics design.
Responsible for ensuring the security/technology governance program is covered and managed successfully with clear and defined leadership.
Participates in project management methodology and best practices creation and continual improvement.
Actively contributes to the effectiveness of the overall IT team by: willingly helping others in their duties when the need arises and offering positive suggestions for improvements in relative areas.
