Job Description:
The Web Design & Development Manager is responsible for the design, development and execution of Christ in Youth’s (CIY) website and online marketing strategy. This position reports to the Director of Organizational Advancement as part of the CIY Marketing Team and is offered at the CIY Joplin, MO headquarters.

As part of a creative marketing team, the Web Design & Development Manager is responsible for CIY’s online marketing initiatives and related IT functions for CIY’s web presence. The position will be responsible for the successful development, implementation and communication of fresh, creative, result-oriented web strategies and the coordination of hardware, software and architectures relevant to website structure, functionality, operations, reporting and database management.
The Web Development Manager will be responsible for website optimization using various tools, techniques and components including, but not limited to, title tags, meta-descriptions, key word density, internal linking, redirects, site map management, keyword/phrase research, page construction, image titling, strategic domain name creation and content management to support CIY’s development, marketing, brand awareness, employee relations and customer service needs. The Web Development Manager will also execute knowledge of new media, Internet related technologies and current web trends, including social media advertising, analytics, interactive concepts, ecommerce, web video and audio applications.
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
• BA / BS Degree required
• Minimum five to seven years experience in web concepts, design and development
• Solid foundation in SEO programs and trends, including knowledge and understanding of current search engine algorithms/methods both organic and paid
• Key knowledge and understanding of programming (CSS) and web design, and how it affects SEO
• Ability to optimize websites for standard cross-platform browsers (i.e. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.)
• In depth knowledge of user-focused web communications and design; ability to integrate and translate traditional marketing activities to web
• Ability to quickly identify technical and online issues and to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical colleagues
• Experience with database driven content management systems (PHP, MySQL, django)
• Thorough knowledge of HTML, Flash, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and additional languages
• Experience with XML sitemaps, link building, web analytics and methodology
• Working knowledge of website security measures
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and web development software (CODA, Textmate)
• Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and organized
• Self-starter, creative and detail oriented; proven project management experience
• Ability to multi-task under pressure and produce results in a dynamic, team-oriented and competitive environment
• Strong prioritization, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to present to Executive Management
• Professional services or Advertising/Public Relations/Marketing agency experience a plus

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical or systems issues with CIY website presences, often under tight deadlines
• Manage all search engine optimization (SEO) practices to maximize website visibility and drive traffic to targeted website pages
• Ability to build and implement custom java script website enhancements
• Serve as the day-to-day liaison with IT department
• Responsible for CIY’s Domain (DNS) management
• Collaborate with marketing peers and program teams to develop and manage web assets and concepts to optimize CIY’s website and enhance the user experience for all program sites
• Strategize integrated website components of marketing plans or campaigns
• Monitor, analyze and interpret website traffic, data and usage trends, provide regular reports and proactively make data led recommendations for the successful implementation or changes
• Develop plug-ins and applications that enhance social media presence and marketing goals
• Build or revise custom website pages using CSS
• Coordinate security and privacy protection measures with IT team
• Research and share social media activities that increase brand awareness and increase traffic to our websites
• Identify areas of opportunity for content and linking partnerships
• Train marketing team members and other program leaders as needed and directed, to adapt to the evolving internet world
Ministry Culture and Environment
The Web Development Manager will agree to abide by the CIY Culture Statement and is expected to work no less than 40 hours per week in the Joplin, MO offices.
