Job Description:
Position: Finance Manager
Classification: Salaried, Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director of Finance
Supervises: Finance Team volunteers; Finance Shepherds; Counting Team

Manage day to day operations of Finance Ministry, provide reporting and analysis necessary to effectively manage annual operating budget and to effectively execute stewardship strategies.

• Bachelor’s degree, Accounting

• Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible accounting experience to include supervisory experience, team development, financial analysis, budget preparation and management, financial reporting
• Experience with reviewing and modifying accounting systems and procedures/process improvement

Key Responsibilities
Day to day financial operations:
• Accounts payable
• Payroll (employee and contractor)
• Manage counting process for weekly offering
Month end closing process
• Journal entries
• Balance sheet account reconciliations
• Preparation of monthly financial statements and ad hoc reporting
• Prepare needed reporting for Finance Shepherds
Year end procedures
• Vendor 1099’s and associated reporting
• Annual contribution statements
• Prepare annual audit work papers
• Financial reporting to UM conference
Assist with preparation of annual Operating budget
Continual process improvement in accounting and administrative areas
Assist with execution of Stewardship strategy
• Annual stewardship emphasis
• Annual celebration events
• Communication with contributors
Ad Hoc projects
• Inventory control process for sale of books and items
• Procurement process for supplies, etc.
