Esperanza Health Center seeks a qualified and committed Christian professional for a full-time Senior Billing Specialist position. The Senior Billing Specialist is responsible for: 1) direct supervision of billing staff; 2) preparing and submitting clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper; 3) maintaining up-to-date responses to claim denials and correspondence with insurance companies; 4) performing various collection actions for past due balances from insurance companies and patient payments; 5) training other health center departments on billing practices; and 6) working as a part of a team to lead and complete various finance and billing projects as assigned by the Billing Manager and Finance Director, primarily with regards to revenue cycle management.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Two or more years of previous medical billing experience minimum. Must demonstrate working knowledge of medical billing/collection practices, medical coding, third-party operating procedures and practices, ICD/CPT coding, and medical terminology. Requires substantive Medicare/Medicaid experience. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and take on leadership roles within a team. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel required. Previous supervision, administrative, dental billing and clerical experience strongly preferred.
