JOB DESCRIPTION: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
This ministry's board of directors is seeking a passionate, experienced individual to fill the position of Executive Director. The new Executive's primary responsibilities will be to solidify the ministry’s programmatic strength, to increase its visibility and support throughout the community, and to assist the board in implement the goals of an ongoing strategic plan.
The ministry’s board, staff, participants and volunteers represent a Christian faith and believe in the following set of shared values in the workplace:

The Executive Director will report to the Founder. He/she will work with the ministry’s Founder, Board and staff to:
o Assist the Founder in the area of public relations and mass communication.
o Work with the Founder to plan annual goals and to implement strategies.
o Build on the ministry’s strong reputation in order to raise its profile and attract awareness beyond its current circle of volunteers and participants.
o Solidify existing relationships, and create new ones with individual supporters, philanthropists, and partnering organizations locally, regionally, and nationally.
o Establish a stronger and more diverse program of resource development that will ensure the ministry’s long-term fiscal health.
o Continue to reach and attract mothers who seek to change their lives by achieving a new level of purposeful and intentional parenting.
o Continue to provide resources for mothers in order to inspire, educate, and equip them in every phase of motherhood to be confident and intentional and in their life-long parenting role.
o Continue to recruit effective volunteer leaders who are committed to the ministry’s values and long-term goals.
o Following an appropriate transition period, the ministry’s new Executive Director will be expected to work with the board and staff to set a course that maintains existing high standards for program quality and effectiveness, while exploring new opportunities for organizational sustainability.
o Work in partnership with Board of Directors, Founder and Funding Committee in setting and meeting fundraising goals.
o Establish Major Gifts Program and initiate Planned Giving Program.
o Ensure donor and fundraising activities data is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
Key Responsibilities of the Executive Director
Leadership. The Executive Director must be able to make decisions that ensure the organizational strengths and resources to sustain existing programs and explore opportunities for even broader community impact.
Board Relations. The Executive Director will work with the ministry’s board of directors to support their governance, fundraising, planning and oversight responsibilities.
Fundraising. Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies and manage annual fundraising plan to develop and expand strong financial base by securing diverse funding entities in conjunction with the Funding Advisory Council.
Resource Development and Financial Management. The Executive Director will work with the Board and CPA to ensure that the ministry has the necessary resources to fulfill its strategic agenda.
Marketing and Communications. The Executive Director will work to ensure the ministry is communicating with its participants, prospects and its various constituencies in a language and manner that is most effective for each audience.
Operations. The Executive Director will oversee day-to-day activities, actively participate in programs and program management, supervise administrative and program staff; he/she will direct annual fund efforts and strategic planning; and will assure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

effective relationships with a diverse group of volunteers, major donors and program
- Has an image of himself/herself as a management executive and an effective leader.
- Is a team-builder and motivator who creates a supportive work environment.
- Uses good judgment in delegating responsibility, processing information, and recognizing
- Is realistic about the strategic direction of the ministry and its capacity to accept new
- Has the ability and willingness to expand the ministry’s community profile, influence and base
of financial support.
- Has a bachelor’s degree
