Job Description:
The Latin America Mission is an international community of men and women who, motivated by their love for the Lord Jesus Christ and in obedience to His commands, encourage, assist, and participate with the Latin Church in the task of building the church of Jesus Christ in the Latin world and beyond.

LAM works directly with hundreds of churches and Christian agencies throughout Latin America by assigning qualified personnel to work with them in carrying out their ministry in the region, and to participate with them, at their invitation, in evangelism and discipleship.

The Need
Latin America Mission is seeking a qualified and energetic professional to provide excellent service through data entry, reporting, donor communication, and to be the Vice President of Development’s primary assistant. The successful candidate will be an effective problem-solver with experience in non-profit finance, customer service and data entry in a fast-paced, professional environment and must maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.

Upon mastery of data processing and donor correspondence the Development Department Assistant will spend an increasing amount of time performing more complex data analysis, problem solving and process improvement tasks.

• Receive and process all donation information from checks, credit cards,, wire transfers, EFT/ACH and stock donations into the Donations database
• Facilitate recurring donations via credit card and direct debit and follow-up with exceptions; facilitate gifts in honor/memory of individuals, and facilitate company matching gifts
• Respond to constituent phone calls and emails regarding contribution inquiries and contact information updates
• Receive and enter new constituents from church speaking engagements and other sources into Database, preventing duplicates and ensuring data integrity
• Ensure accuracy of information in database including: updating contact information, assigning and maintaining codes, updating notes and actions, and ensuring all connections/relationships are assigned
• Assist with follow up efforts including printing and mailing welcome/thank you letters, receipts, and other deliverables
• Assist with the coordination, execution and improvement of key donor retention and acquisition processes
• Assist with creation of donation reports and data analysis for the Donor Relations department;
• Provide data queries and reports for other departments
• Maintain professional standards for the Donor Relations department through thorough editing of written communication, strict adherence to deadlines, professional standards of email and telephone communication, and appropriate professional etiquette
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience
• At least six months experience in the accurate entry of data into a computerized file system
• Proven ability to provide professional customer service to a variety of constituents
• Bachelor’s degree
• Familiarity with non-profit accounting
• Experience supervising other team-members
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 or higher
• Exceptional ability in written and oral communications
• Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain databases
• Candidates fluent in English and Spanish will be given priority
