Status: Full Time Salaried Position

Location: Richmond, VA Office

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Job Description:

Salem Web Network is seeking an SEO (search engine optimization) Specialist with excellent marketing sense, experience with digital marketing and search engine optimization, a familiarity with the faith-based marketplace, and passion for creating the best products which satisfy the promotional needs of the largest online network of Christian properties in the world. The SEO Specialist will assist the Director of SEO & Marketing and the SEO Analyst with day to day search optimization tasks. The individual will be responsible for link building as well as SEO copywriting, basic SEO updates, and sometimes other marketing tasks such as pay per click and creative. Candidates should have knowledge of various internet marketing channels, search engines, social media, analytics packages, statistical analysis, and general marketing principles. Other attributes include a well-rounded knowledge of the Web, as well as a thorough familiarity of leading trends in usability, and traditional advertising.

Responsibilities:
• Work with the Director of Marketing and SEO to define the SWN product positioning, messaging, and branding
• Assess website properties, perform keyword research and density analysis to provide actionable SEO recommendations for editing and new content
• Write and edit web content for search engine optimization including meta-data, heading tags, and keyword density
• Assist in the development of marketing creative, oversee its deployment and execution to support program and media efforts including online, print, and radio
• Track and measure search marketing and optimization campaigns; designing test strategies and creative to optimize results
• Develop comprehensive link building strategies and reporting including directories, blogs, bookmarking sites, and social media
• Utilize analytical and research tools for keywords, back-links, PPC, pagerank, social presence, competitive intelligence
• Sponsor and co-lead product research that offers penetrating insights into the needs SWN users and target audiences
• Work with Director of Marketing and SEO in developing and executing online customer acquisition plans designed to maximize site traffic and sales demand


Requirements:
• BA/BS degree, MBA a plus
• Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years experience in online marketing, marketing program management, search engine optimization, or consulting
• Knowledge of best practices for link building
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and HTML
• Experience with pay per click programs including Ad Words and Yahoo Search Marketing
• Passion for analyzing products, customers and market dynamics
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market
• Understanding of Salem Web Network’s strategic and competitive position
