Status: Full Time Salaried Position

Location: Richmond, VA Office

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Job Description:

Salem Web Network is seeking an SEO/SEM (search engine optimization, search engine marketing) Specialist with excellent marketing sense, experience with digital marketing and search engine optimization, a familiarity with the faith-based marketplace, and passion for creating the best products which satisfy the promotional needs of the largest online network of Christian properties in the world. The SEO Specialist will be responsible for insuring higher rankings for Salem’s network of sites by auditing, analyzing and providing recommendations that will deliver results. Qualified candidates will have experience with online marketing and SEO, including reading and understanding code, website architecture, website usability, content writing, link building, and project/campaign management. Candidates should have knowledge of various internet marketing channels, search engines, social media, analytics packages, statistical analysis, and general marketing principles.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Director of SEO & Marketing with SEO strategy development and online customer acquisition plans designed to maximize site traffic and sales demand
• Assess website properties; perform keyword research and density analysis to provide actionable SEO recommendations.
• Conduct internal linking structure audits and provide SEO guidance in technical areas such as server infrastructure, website structure and page construction, redirects, JavaScript referencing and programming standards
• Track and measure search marketing and optimization campaigns; designing test strategies and creative to optimize results
• Write SEO copy including writing meta tags, and important on-page factors such as H1 and static text
• Develop comprehensive link building strategies and reporting including directories, blogs, bookmarking sites, and social media
• Ability to perform competitive linking analysis and find potential link targets
• Utilize analytical and research tools for keywords, backlinks, PPC, pagerank, social presence, competitive intelligence
• Search engine and directory submissions
• Keeping up-to-date with latest industry trends, technology and changes
• Work with Director of Marketing and SEO in developing and executing online customer acquisition plans designed to maximize site traffic and sales demand

Requirements:
• BA/BS degree, MBA a plus
• Ideal candidate will have 1-3 years experience in search engine optimization, online marketing, marketing program management, or consulting
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and HTML
• Experience with SEO analysis tools, PPC tools, back link analyzers, and competitive intelligence reporting
• Experience with developing and executing link building strategies
• Passion for analyzing products, customers and market dynamics
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market
• Understanding of Salem Web Network’s strategic and competitive position
