Job Description:
Salem Media of Hawaii is looking for a qualified Promotions Director to manage the development and execution of all station promotions, community affairs efforts and assist in the development of station event marketing opportunities. Responsible for enhancing station image and visibility within the community that will attract listeners and clients. Act as liaison between programming and sales to develop overall station campaigns, themes and marketing approaches – The ability for creative out of the box thinking which will develop revenue-generating promotions that cross promote clients and third parties. Create visibility and publicity within the market, leading to buzz and talk about the station. Implement grass roots marketing efforts at the local level. The successful candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Some specific responsibilities and functions include: The ability to plan, organize and execute events. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop able to administrate station websites. Must have a valid driver's license in order to drive station vehicles. Able to work nights and weekends as required. Daily/weekly contest fulfillment on all six (6) Salem Media of Hawaii stations. Liaison to strategic marketing locations. Maintain promotional calendar. Present various Public Relations departments with press release information. Create written debriefs of station events including; promotion title, client, execution dates of promotion and the amount of exposure received. Maintain a complete inventory of prizes in “prize closet” and, station vehicle inventory (booth, banner, bumper stickers, etc.). Ensure that station vehicle is gassed and cleaned before events and fully stocked with marketing/promotional items. Pre-event and on-site event coordination of live remotes, scheduling on-air talent appearances, concerts and other station events. Maintain promotional elements of all six (6) station web sites. Develop and collect content for bi-weekly email newsletter. Develop written proposals to potential clients. Conduct weekly promotions meeting to help create promotions that fit all six (6) stations and generate revenue. Construct promotional map of listening area identifying hot zips. Research: community events, album releases, guests/artists. Special projects as assigned. Salem Media of Hawaii is an equal opportunity employer.
