Job Description:
Experience & Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public planning or related field of study from an accredited college or university preferred. Associate’s degree plus related work experience may substitute on a year for year basis. Three years of directly related work experience in government or a large organization involving disaster and emergency planning with operational experience in the field and/or in an emergency operations center. Able to achieve certification as an instructor/trainer of Medic First Aide within six months of employment and a master trainer of Medic First Aide within one year of employment. Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass criminal background check.

Duties: Will oversee all aspects of emergency disaster preparation and response for the Denver Metro Area including planning, organization, training, capacity building and resource deployment while fulfilling a variety of related coordination, networking and liaison roles. Will develop a comprehensive emergency disaster response plan, operations manual and promotional material regarding TSA emergency disaster services. Will identify and cultivate financial resources for EDS training. Will organize response teams, encourage and facilitate the active participation of field units, assist in developing emergency disaster response plans with regular updates and participation in exercises at all levels, etc. Will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date database of all EDS personnel including current information on training received, certifications and specialized skills. Will work closely with those involved with S.A.T.E.R.N. (Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network) in order to make maximum use of this resource. Will maintain a database of all EDS facilities and equipment, canteens, kitchens, electric generators, warehouse space, shelters, etc. Will identify and cultivate sources of financial support for EDS supplies and equipment. Will serve on committees and attend conferences as assigned.
