Job Description:
Job Summary: Free Wheelchair Mission is seeking an experienced Part-Time Graphic Designer to work on site and take the lead in creating unique and innovative web, email and print materials, along with newsletters and press release pieces, to assist in the organization’s continued growth. Position requires strong communication skills and well-versed desktop publishing tools such as Creative Suite Premium (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign), html, css and flash. The creative work of this position will be applied in marketing materials, web design and donor fundraising events.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Experience in doing layout as well as creating originals from creative direction
• Must possess artistic ability and creative problem solving for designing eye-catching and effective promotional material
• Responsible for in-house design for FWM printed materials
• Provide support to administrative and development staff for fundraising projects
• Establish uniform “look” and color scheme in printed materials applying FWM logo
• Ability to work under a tight deadline
• Develop strong relationships with FWM vendors
• Attend and participate in FWM staff retreats and scheduled fundraising events
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned in support of daily job duties
• Share the message of Free Wheelchair Mission and our goal, “to provide the transforming gift of mobility for the disabled poor in developing countries.”
Experience Required:
• At minimum of at least three years in corporate style graphic design experience, including html, style sheets and master pages
• Experience in doing layout as well as creating originals from creative direction
• Software knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark Xpress knowledge preferred
• Strong knowledge of print composition, typography and pre-press set-up
• Artistic ability and creative problem-solving for designing eye-catching and effective promotional material
• Familiarity with missionary organizations or disabilities a plus
• Experience in the non-profit or philanthropic sectors highly desirable
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S. / B.A.)

Knowledge and Critical Skills:
• Strong graphic design and art skills
• Highly detailed oriented
• Flexibility and ability to handle multiple projects at once
• Ability to collaborate with a team and work autonomously
• Ability to take direction, follow the design process, and execute under tight deadlines
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact diplomatically with diverse groups
