Job Description:
General Purpose/Summary Statement:

The Web Content Administrator ,2 position exists to provide advice to business areas on content development and, is responsible for managing, creating and/or acquiring and, publishing content for websites, email newsletters, and other online communications media such as podcasts, etc. for Focus on the Family’s web presence. A thorough knowledge of content strategy and best practice standards is essential to ensure consistency across all Ministry online services and that content supports web strategy objectives

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
-Provides advice and assists Development team in providing appropriate content and materials to support the strategic direction of the Focus on the Family Web presence

-Contributes to the top-level and detailed design of the website (or e-newsletter, etc.), with a particular focus on the ways in which the goals for the site and the needs of users can be met through the provision of appropriate content

-Contributes to the process of information design, to ensure that content is appropriately structured to meet the goals for the site and the needs of users

-Schedules the creation/acquisition of content in accordance with online editorial policy

-Manages the creation/acquisition of content in accordance with the online schedule

-Prepares and publishes textual content for websites (including feature articles, advertising copy, database content, links, FAQs, etc.)

-Prepares and publishes textual content for e-newsletters

-Updates and maintains time-sensitive web content and materials

-Designs web forms

-Is responsible for quality assurance: writing, editing, & proof reading web content. Usability Testing

-Analyzes and reviews existing web content

-Seeks or ensures copyright approval for the use of any content (existing and new)

-Locates and selects appropriate, existing multimedia content, including still images, animations, music and video

-Allocates tasks to content contributors

-Recommends changes in editorial policy and site design

-Obtains and analyzes website usage statistics and user feedback

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

Personal Characteristics:
-Lives with integrity derived from Biblical values and demonstrates standards of conduct that meet or exceed company and/or legal requirements -Results-oriented, self-motivated and committed -Avid interest in the Internet, especially as it relates to the key components of content delivery

-Bachelor's Degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing or related field -3-5 years experience with web site strategies and design for targeting audiences -Knowledge of Best Practice Standards and Usability and Accessibility Testing -Experience managing projects, estimating resources, timeframes and planning, etc. -Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and other web concepts -General marketing experience helpful

Skills Abilities and Special Talents/Gifts:
-Strong written communication skills e.g., writing/editing for the Web -Organized and detail-oriented -Ability to handle multiple projects at once -Ability to meet tight deadlines

The starting salary for this position is $4050 per month.
