Director of Engineering / Avionics
Our customer, an innovative Midwestern aeronautical manufacturer is looking to add a Director of Engineering to its staff.
If you are a Senior-level Avionics, Aerospace or Aircraft Engineer (fixed wing or rotary) and possess a minimum 10 years experience in a high level Program Management, Engineering Leadership or Technical Development role and are looking for the challenge of a lifetime, we would like to talk with you.
In this newly created position you will take our customer's newest product design from prototype into design, build, test, certification and finally to production.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader whom values the person as much as the professional. You will have demonstrated experience building and then leading this new division’s world-class engineering team into the future.
While we (of course) have a long list of technical, professional and management prerequisites (some of which are listed below) we will eventually want to talk about, our primary goal is to identify the right person for this opportunity - as s/he will work closely with all levels of our customer’s executive, development, engineering, management and production teams.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree (advanced degree or equivalent is preferred) plus a minimum 10 years experience leading and managing the engineering process for an avionics manufacturer and/or closely related supplier. All experience related to Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Software Engineering gained from a commercial, military or related avionics industry will be considered.
The successful candidate will:

* Have a demonstrated ability to lead a variety of cross-functional engineering teams to develop and maintain project
plans on assigned Engineering level projects in new product development or sustaining of existing projects ensure all
project work is estimated and scheduled.
* Be experienced taking products through all required FAA and related certifications, etc.
* Have demonstrated experience managing multiple high-level engineering, management, production, facilities,
regulatory and production resources while delivering the highest level of quality possible.
* Strong communication skills and be able to concisely and effectively communicate throughout all levels of the company – from BOD to production.
* Be a visionary, able to see and think outside of the box.
* Be a Citizen of the United States.
